Reduce Waste this Holiday Season...Reuse,, Recyle...
Reduce Waste this Holiday Season. Sounds easy, it is... Just some simple planning will help generate less waste. Plastic wrap, gift wrap, leftover food, decorations all can be reused, recycled, with careful planning waste will be much less this year. As a consumer we can make a difference. Before you buy something, look and see how is it packaged. It will help. Also, plan waste-free meals, creative ways to use up leftovers and do not purchase more than you need, then toss it out. And also recycle the Christmas tree... save those traditional decorations from year to year, it will be those special memories to look forward to every year. Try to get everyone in the family involved. It will be fun and also a learning process. Enjoy this holiday season with less waste....

Smart Women Finish Rich, book by David Bach

The Road to Perfect Health by Brenda Watson review
This series by Brenda Watson is currently on many PBS channels. Her good and concise information is easy to understand and gives insight into many new ideas for the goal of having Perfect Health at any age. The information on probiotics is getting to be more mainstream everyday. I would watch this again, just to be sure I did not miss any of this valuable information. Thank you PBS for another informative bit of programming...

Saving money by cooking at home...
For many years I've been trying to eat better and save money by cooking at home. Now with the continual rise in food prices it makes even more sense to learn to cook and bake from scratch. Now with Fall and Winter cooler temperatures I'm going to be cooking homemade soups and stews. Full of lean cuts of meat and all the different vegetables I can find. Especially when the produce is on sale. Better nutrition and saving money at the same time. Makes sense to me! Get everyone involved with food preparation. It is so rewarding to share a meal with family and friends. Simple living equals a better life...Grandma Emma always said: Waste not, want not" and it still applies today...eat well...

A Cholesterol Lowering Day, photo and article
When choosing our food for each day we should now pay close attention to how much of each nutrient, how much sugar, how much trans fat, how much cholesterol . On the morning news today, rates of cholesterol in children had dropped thirty percent this year. Why? just maybe more exercise and a better diet... fruits, vegetables, lean meats all contribute to a healthier diet and lifestyle. Living simple and healthy still works best for most of us...enjoy your very special and simple day... photo from www.goodhousekeeping.com
